The Dar Al-Maghrib Cultural Center of Montreal was created by Decree No. 2.14.817 of December 23, 2014, and by the joint decision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Minister responsible for Moroccans living abroad and migration affairs No. 1321.15 of April 16, 2015. It was inaugurated on June 1, 2012 by HRH Princess Lalla Hasna.
The establishment of this structure is part of a comprehensive program to create Moroccan cultural centers abroad, in accordance with the High directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and his desire to work constantly to consolidate ties with Moroccans living abroad, through a cultural policy aimed at promoting Moroccan culture and languages among Moroccans around the world. An initiative that demonstrates the high concern with which the Sovereign surrounds the culture and members of the Moroccan community established abroad.
