Ale Nunez

Quartet/Quintet/sextet made up of current and former student musicians from UofT and Humber College with Vocals, drums, saxophone and/or trumpet, bass, guitar and piano. We play a mixture of jazz standards with original arrangements and some arranged by me along with my original music.

Emmet Hodgins

The Emmett Hodgins Coast Group is a jazz fusion ensemble of performers from around the globe based in Toronto, Canada. Featuring Victoria, B.C. born artist Emmett Hodgins, this band is also comprised of artists from Zimbabwe, Jamaica, and other parts of Canada such as Alberta.

The group was founded after a brief summer tour through the coast of B.C. (hence the name Coast Group) where the band was formed playing original compositions inspired by the B.C. coast, and the atmosphere and global emotion of the time.

Geraden Smith

The Geraden Smith quartet is lead by emerging Toronto jazz guitarist and Humber Music Alumni Geraden Smith.

Currently filling the side-person chairs in his band are fellow Humber graduates Teagan Larmand on Acoustic Bass and Tor Stangeland on drums.

The original compositions Geraden brings to the table for this ensemble are influenced heavily by traditional and modern jazz, contemporary rock styles and the blues. The Geraden Smith Trio is based out of the Greater Toronto Area and performs regularly at local venues and festivals.

Harry Barlett Trio

The Harry Bartlett Trio is a Toronto-based ensemble featuring Harry Bartlett (guitar), Caleb Klager (bass), and Harry Vetro (drums). With a foundation in jazz and an affinity for Americana music, the Harry Bartlett Trio’s music “transcends a single genre” (Textura).

Merging jazz improvisation and folk influences, their music is at once recognizably nostalgic and unexpectedly fresh.

Jacob Soucy is a Canadian trumpeter, composer, and producer based in Toronto. Soucy’s forthcoming EP includes music influenced by J Dilla, KAYTRANADA, Anderson. Paak, Roy Hargrove, Robert Glasper, Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, Brasstracks, and Vulfpeck. Neo-soul, hip-hop, jazz-fusion, hyper-pop, and house/edm somehow tied together. Minimalist Maximalism.

Matt Austen Quartet

Matt Greenwood is a guitarist and composer from Harare, Zimbabwe, now based in Toronto after recently graduating from Humber’s music program.

His quintet, featuring Lucas Dubovik, Matt McCormack, Joshua Stanberry and Matt Dicker, performs Matt’s original music which draws from jazz, rock, African and classical music whilst creating immersive cinematic soundscapes.

As a collective, Nezqwik prides itself in being a truly unique band. The choice to remain instrumental as often as possible is intentional, as it forces us to express ourselves through the voice of our collective instruments.

In addition, we blend elements of all the genres we are immersed in, which includes, jazz, gospel, hip-hop, funk, rock, and even traditional Indian music!

We feel very strongly about our work because it is an unwavering presentation of who we are as a band, what we stand for, and the music that inspires us.
