It’s about community spirit: Meet your BIA Ambassador
Hi friends! I’m delighted to introduce myself as your ambassador for the Yonge North York Business Improvement Area (BIA). As a dedicated member of our neighbourhood, I’m excited to kick off this venture to champion our local businesses.
As March unfolds, I realize how many celebrations await us this month. I’m personally eager for milder weather, spring flowers, and some Irish luck. That being said, St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner! I’m looking forward to introducing myself, sharing my passion for community, and giving you a sneak peek into the fantastic St. Patrick’s Day celebrations happening in Yonge North York.
Get to know Zarene
Before we dive into the festivities, allow me to tell you a bit about myself. I’ve called Willowdale my home for as long as I can remember, and I’m deeply connected to the community.
Becoming the new Yonge North York BIA ambassador is a role I cherish, and my mission is simple: to share love for our local businesses and enhance the sense of togetherness that makes our area unique.
Outside of blogging for the BIA, you’ll find me supporting small businesses in Toronto through my initiative Gift Local Toronto and working on Nourish A Neighbour, a program I started with local charity, Neighbourlink North York.
Together, I’m looking forward to uplifting the businesses and people that make our community so vibrant.
St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day is more than just a green-themed fest; it’s a perfect occasion to gather with friends and neighbours. Here are some local bars that are gearing up to make this St. Paddy’s Day unforgettable. Get ready for a memorable celebration!
St. Louis Bar & Grill:
One of my personal favourites, St. Louis Bar & Grill is a must-visit. Their classic menu, coupled with the friendly staff, creates the perfect St. Paddy’s Day atmosphere. Immerse yourself in the festive spirit as you raise a glass of specially themed green beer – a delightful touch that adds a vibrant twist to your celebration. Of course, no wing experience at St. Louis is complete without dipping into their legendary dill sauce!
Jack Astor’s Bar & Grill North York:
Who says St. Patrick’s Day can’t be a family affair? Dress the kids in green and head to Jack Astor’s for a meal outside. What’s more, they’ve got paper and crayons ready, ensuring the kids can unleash their creativity, while you enjoy the game on their numerous TV screens.
While you’re there, don’t forget to enter their “Irish I Had a Drinking Buddy” guest contest, where you can win a free trip to Ireland when you order a Murphy’s Irish Stout pint or a Jameson Hitchhiker (1oz shot).
The Frog: A Firkin Pub:
Step into The Frog, where the bar is decked out in vibrant green decor, creating an atmosphere that transports you straight to Ireland. Immerse yourself in the festivities with an array of draft beers, and live music that sets the stage for your very own Irish jig.
As an added delight, indulge in their special St. Patrick’s Menu, featuring mouthwatering dishes such as Guinness Potato & Cheddar Soup and a Blarney Stone Burger. It’s a cozy hub perfect for catching up with friends over a pint.
These three fantastic locations provide the perfect opportunity to venture out on a Sunday night and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in our area. Whether you’re accompanied by a friend, your partner, or your entire family, you can truly make the most of these wonderful local spots.
